Schools programme

Our mission to schools

CA is a NGO that aims to address social ills through the implementation of a Values and Virtues programme called Alive to the World in schools.

Since our pilot project in several schools in 2016, we have expanded to 118 Primary Schools in different areas in Trinidad and Tobago.

We are now aiming to adapt the books to the Caribbean context. They will be used in the 118 schools currently subscribed and serve to expand to all 550 Primary Schools in the country.

Implementation in schools

There are several stages for the implementation of Alive to the World in a school.

1. Training: Train teachers and volunteers to deliver the programme.

2. Provision of books and teaching aids. There is a teacher’s manual and student books for each level.

3. Delivery: Each school has a designated time period each week for the programme.

4. Impact evaluation. The impact of the programme is measured through online exercises that the children do, and feedback forms that are completed by teachers at the end of each term.
